THE UNITED KINGDOM
“Suddenly in the space of a moment I realised what it was that I loved about Britain – which is to say, all of it. Every last bit of it, good and bad…” — Bill Bryson
I have so much love for this conglomerate of nations. The UK offers some of the best history, natural wonders, culture, and attractions in Europe, and the world. The UK is made up of four countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Each country has its own story and each deserves your time!
I studied abroad in Belfast, Northern Ireland in the spring of 2014 for four months where I fell in love with this corner of the world. Belfast is an extremely interesting city set amongst one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Northern Ireland’s coast is spectacular, so when heading to the Emerald Isle do not forget about the North! While studying abroad in Belfast I also managed to make a trip to Scotland where I explored the beauty of Edinburgh and the epicness of the Highlands.
In September 2016, my partner and I moved to London to pursue our dreams. We love living here and it’s a city that just never stops giving. Sure, there are all the big sights like Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, and Buckingham Palace, but this is just scratching the surface of what London is all about.
We specifically live in North London, though towards the East. Our favourite neighbourhoods include Fitzrovia, Soho, Stoke Newington, Clapton, Bethnal Green and London Fields.
Beyond London, there is an entire region to explore! England is quintessential in all its many forms, and there are some great places to check out, like Bath, Bristol, Oxford, and Canterbury.
